UL Solutions          J2 Innovations

Make sure not to miss the key event of the 2022 EUROVENTSUMMIT: The Eurovent Innovation/HUB powered by UL Solutions and J2 Innovations.

Leading personalities from in and outside the industry will give visionary, non-commercial keynote presentations in a TED-style manner. No PowerPoint, minimal text, more animations, precisely 10 minutes (promise). After the talks, the event will transform into an after-show party, during which you can enjoy a cocktail dinner.

Keynote talks

Increase your low GWP IQ and become better looking in 10 minutes or less
Dustin Steward, Director & Global Industry Lead for Appliances, HVAC & Components, UL Solutions

Dustin Steward

Gear yourself up for this state-of-the-art opening keynote speech, in which Dustin Steward will provide unique insights into the transition to lower GWP refrigerants. UL Solutions has performed more flammable refrigerant research than any other organisation. In this talk, Dustin Steward will share, live on stage in Antalya, various insights into the low GWP transition process and tips on how to breeze through the complex compliance process. Some sub-topics may include; variances between the IEC and UL Standards, A2L component certification, using modelling and simulation for development and the current status of flammable refrigerant research.

Dear building, let me introduce you to building management
Alex Rohweder, CEO, J2 Innovations

Alex Rohweder

Join J2 Innovation’s Alex Rohweder in Antalya in extending and diversifying the role of HVAC manufacturers in a landscape of unmanaged buildings. Today, about 80% of all commercial buildings do not have a building automation system in place. This is like driving a car without a steering wheel and speedometer and even operating it without a driving license! It’s time for manufacturers to seize the opportunity and create “system-in-a-box” type solutions for managing their products and associated ancillary equipment; either managing the plant room or the whole building. There is no reason why manufacturers cannot extend into managing lighting and metering too, providing the market with a much easier way to acquire integrated BMS type functionality, without the cost of custom engineering.

Circularity and serviceability in the HVACR Industry
Frank Taaning Grundholm, Vice President, Global HVACR Sales, ABB

Frank Grundholm

In his speech, Frank claims that “we need to start including sustainability requirements in our buildings specifications and ensure that solutions enable fundamental requirements for serviceability and circularity.” While we are not fully ready for full circularity on all our components, we need to take a serious look at serviceability of the units, as there will be an increasing legal requirement for units and even sub-components like fans to be repairable. These requirements will push a development away from strong integration on sub-unit level.

Technology for man or man for technology, so why do people open windows?
Filip Konieczny, Business Development Manager, FLOWAIR

Filip Konieczny

Last but not least: FLOWAIR’s Filip Konieczny will answer the question of how to build a bridge between galloping technology and primal human needs. Technology in the service of man, so how to avoid losing what is uniquely human. Increasingly automated world and solutions designed by algorithms loose a certain imperfection, and thus their human character. How to build bridges in order not to lose sight of a person during such a dynamic phase of technology development? Less than 100 years ago, Henry Ford’s slogan “Every customer can buy a car painted in any colour, as long as it is black”, was enough to revolutionise the automotive market. Today, companies are fighting for customers attention by investing huge amounts of money in automation. Is it worth it, is it beneficial? Will such intensive technological progress provide only benefits or will it also generate threats? We need to have some kind of control over the developing reality and care for the declining social relations. Do we really need technology to take care of so many aspects of our lives? We are all heading in one direction like a rolling snowball. Answers to these and more questions will be provided live on stage in Antalya – in precisely 10 minutes, of course.
